Guest guest
same routine today. david swenson came. he paid due respect to guruji and sharath prior to class, took a middle of the pack position and did his practice. other than his expertise in vinyasa, the only thing he did that stood out was that he was the only one pressing to headstand during the navasana vinyasas. i've never met him, but in viewing his videos, using his book extensively and seeing him maintain a low key presence at the workshop, i've got nothing but respect for him. he's someone i would try to emulate in every aspect of the practice.
there seems to be a little less laughter during the class each day. perhaps people are getting more serious about their practice. or maybe the humor of being "caught" progressing to upward dog a half a second prior to the command has worn off. Guest guest
Swenson! So that's who that old guy was! Now I feel better....

It's amazing some of the folks who've shown up for the advanced class. The young lady directly in front of me demonstrated the most graceful and deep first series I've ever seen -- and that's saying something.
