Guest guest
Chamoya,

Sorry if my website is disappointing to you. Yes the standard complaint about many personal websites is that they're "just a bunch of links". If you dig around a bit you'll find more there than just links. (And carefully elected pages of links can be very useful). I wish there was more "content" there and hopefully someday there will be. I plan to write about yoga, health, food and other stuff from my perspective and post some interesting info. But I have much to do and little time for the website. And I always think that some info is better than none. I don't plan to post a picture of myself there, though, or any info on specifically "where I'm at" in my personal yoga practice. My page of ashtanga yoga links is very useful to me and hopefully to many others. It is as complete as I could make it and more complete than any other I have seen. My lists of ashtanga yoga books and videos are also meant to be complete and I haven't seen anything else like them on the net. My yoga pages are a small part of my website, which consists of over 100 pages, not just a "home page". My music and movie pages may help you to learn more about me if that is your interest. I created my site, including the yoga pages, before I found the club. As Dr. Frankenfurter said to Janet - "I didn't make him for you".

Now about your home page - I'm not seeing one listed in your profile (or in almost anyone else's profile). I don't see your picture there either. And I don't know why it would matter to me how "accomplished" someone else is in their practice. I have seen many students come to class for the first time and do many things that I can't do after four years of practice. I can't even quite get into lotus. I'm happy to make the progress I make one day at a time.

Anywhere you look, there's something missing. Or maybe its just in how you look at things.

I may be little bit "private". Perhaps I can share more. Something you're needing/wanting to know from/about me?

Anyway, let's be nice!

NAMASTE

Slade

Guest guest
tl

well, yeah, i guess i WAS looking for something about you. Many of the websites that people have (but maybe they are yoga teachers) give one at least a gist. But if you're private, you're private.
No, i don't have a picture on my profile (see, you looked, even if it is just to get a feel of who you are talking to) BUT let me run my almost good excuse by you.
I don't know how to download and i have never taken a yogapicture of myself (i notoriously travel countries without a camera)(in one way it makes me lighter).
But i did try to give some feel for who i am in the limited space without getting to common personal details that people pigeonhole each other with. Did you not get a feel? I guess then it didn't work. Well, failure is no novel avenue for me.

But now if i had a clue to do a website ...

Anyway, some of the nicest yoga teachers i've had do not do padmasana. What one shares is way more than a tricky pose. But one thing that a person without padmasana has or had to get (especially in ashtanga)is being enough without it. Which is a great attribute. But even greater is becoming smart enough to NOT sacrifice your knees for yoga or any teacher. That is called yoga maturity. Personally, padmasana and i... you don't want to know anyway.

Still, you can PERSONalize you page with 3 sentences and a tiny pic without compromising your privacy. No pressure.

I still have no clue who I'm talking to. Whereas for everyone else here - well they talk so much no pics needed.

Anyway - sensitive people don't survive this particular chatclub. It's all with a grain of salt, you know? And right now i will call on SPW to sing kumbaya to save the situation.

chamoya
