Guest guest
As far as I understand yoga is a method transmitted from the teacher to the disciple. Than it is transformed through the individual experiences of this disciple and again passed on. Just look at the individual influences on the teachings of the three most popular students of Sri Krishnamacharya.

I do practice Ashtanga and teach Jivamukti yoga in Germany and I felt hurt by all this badmouthing of my teachers within the last days. Why blaming them for living who they are?

Yes - they both have an artistic background and they appreciate and value the work of other performers in any artistic area but does it make them bad people to be friend with people like Sting?

Yes - their new center is very huge and impressive, but would you prefer to keep on queuing at second avenue for about an hour and than be told that the class is sold out?

Yes - they make a lot of money now, but can you blame them for working hard over years and years and now using the fruits of the action to raise awareness for topics like the Yoga-Sutras, Meditation or Animal Rights ?

Yes - the teacher training was expensive, but does anyone know a better and more comprehensive one year training. I would send my own grandmother to go and study with any teacher who received Jivamukti certification.

Yes - the year 2000 calendar did confuse me too, but that's what the Jivamukti yoga method is all about. To get you out of your automatic mind patterns and wake you up here and now!

A final note just for the books:
Sharon and David got introduced to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system a very long time ago by the renegade Sivananda Swami Shankaranada (a student of Norman Allan, who was open-minded enough to pass on what he loves and not just what he was told to). I guess that was a time when most of you did still wore diapers and did not even now who to control their anal muscles? And since than at least David did return (as far as know) every year to Mysore to study with Guruji. He is a very devoted 4th series practitioner and he did what you guys always request: Show up every day for second series class when Guruji was in New York (even with a sprained ankle).

om shanti

May all beings each and everywhere be happy and free !!!
