Guest guest
Been away for Labor Day weekend, and there were hundreds and hundreds of messages to read through. Just curious: do any of you belong to other clubs? If so, are they as... voluminous? contentious?

Sunshine: yes, she (Bird) was talking about changing her name, maybe had problems with Charlie Parker's estate? Anyway, do you like it?

For those who use music for asanas, check out Thievery Corporation, lots on Napster, they lift everything, so I don't think they would have problems with downloading. I don't use music for Astanga practice, but I might try those pm poses for opening, and music could provide just the right backdrop. I think I'll try it with Durutti Column, song name Twenty Trees, which is one of the most beautiful pieces ever written, nearly always makes me cry. Then again, maybe that's not such a good idea.

Non-yoga music: This Mortal Coil,(anything) and Gorecki by Lamb always moves me.

To whomever recommended it, I am dowloading Leftfield, and checking it out. Thanks!
Guest guest
hi Bandawoman,

I did like Kathleen Bird/York. Wonderful vocals. For the most part I don't like music on during practice. I do, however, love music of all sorts; thanks for the recommendations. As for the other clubs, I recently became a member of another one of 's clubs and hardly anyone writes in. No posts there for the past week, I think. The ashtanga club is way more prolific and active (not to mention fun) than most, I would imagine. Who'd a thunk it?
Guest guest
Bandawoman, Gorecki by Lamb, is "Gorecki" here the name of a song? Any relation to Henryk Gorecki, the Polish composer (whose 3rd symphony has moved me to tears on more than one occasion)?

Complete agreement on This Mortal Coil. I was listening to Filigree and Shadow the other day for the first time in ages and had forgotten how much I like them. I'll have to check out Durutti Column.
