Guest guest
today in carlsbad, the facade of a nice old grandfather came off to reveal--a tough old drill sergeant who had us hold marichy d for at least 5 minutes. not one iota of exaggeration. my whole consciousness became one big sore right knee. he adjusted about six people around me, going back to a one count after most of them. quite the mental challenge. it broke me quicker than a happy meal toy. the first class did do two postures past navasana. i gathered that i am not the only one who is not too skilled beyond that point, given the thrashing and groaning as we tried to get into our bhujapidasanas, kurmasanas and supta kurmasanas. i glad the more skilled practicioners did get to move beyond navasana. i hope we do go on farther tomorrow. i do better with the other postures afterwards. i'm never gonna get good at those three unless we do them. the second class was working hard too. it's a little intimidating to see people that are that good struggling. i get the sense that, if it's that hard for them, i'll never be able to get to that level. oh well, tincture of time and we'll see
Guest guest
Oh okrgr1, I'm sorry that you are sore and I hope it passes quickly. I was a bit off and sore for most of the two weeks up there in Carlsbad until yesterday and today when for some reason my practice came together and I felt energized and empowered all day. Can't wait for tomorrow and Friday! Maybe it was because Sharath adjusted me several times to better alignment than I'd ever had before, or because I found my breath, or because at last Guruji got through to me when he held those poses longer - don't know. I do know that I got my money's worth and more and I have no complaints. Thanks for letting me share this positive energy with you.<br>Namaste
