Yah...those mats are awesome. I own a Yoga Studio and so mine stays here. I

think it would be heavy and cumbersome to carry around with me. However mine

stays put and I love it.
IL99

There is an interesting article in the latest

yoga journal that is a short history of the rubber

yoga mat, which is a fairly recent development. I was

surprised however that they made no mention of the woven

Mysore mat.

Just got mine. it's very sturdy and durable and

not too bad to carry to class. It did take me a few

practices to bond with it though. Also, the claim is that

the traction stays even if you sweat a lot. Not so. I

sweat a ton and the mat becomes a slick as any.

Although I will say that when wiped off, the mat regains

its traction immediately. I put a practice rug over

mine after the standing asanas. I suggest getting one.

They're way better than the tapas mats.

Before, we use that kind of mat in my yoga class,

very heavy, not convenient for outdoor practice, now

we all change to very light rubber-foam non-slip

mat, the size is 180cm x 90cm x 6mm, strength, soft &

durable with a bag to carry.
NAMASTE!
masaou

I own a black mat. I don't care how heavy it is

to lug around. I love it and take it everywhere with

me. I have carpet surface too. The mat is great

anywhere. I have tried 2 different versions of the black

mat but the one I like most is the one from

www.yogacenter or www.yogacentre.com - it's the one in San Luis

Obispo. Actually it is under "links" in the

www.ashtanga.com section - called manduka mats. That is the best

one I found. You can also purchase a yoga bag from

www.barefootyoga.com and carry it around that way.

Check it

out. Hope you like it as much as I

have.

Namaste, Soulcube
