Guest guest
Pincy B*tt. Your reply shows that you are really, really pinched up and full of lies to boot.

<She is famous for overcharging students> It never occurred to me to judge her in that way. Its just that I'm not all pinched up like you and have a need to project all the vitiol on to others.

<Yogaman like to complain about such matters as Guruji's lates price increase> I have never complained about Guruji's price increase. I defy you to find a posting where I complained about a price increase. You all full of sh*t due to your pinched b*tt!!

<Southern Star good place to pick up yoga chicks> It would do you good to pick up a chick. You do need some fun in your life. But what right minded chick would have you?

<Dinner? for the weak. Those of us practicing at 4:30 or 5:00 just have a couple pieces of fruit.> Another lie. You don't know what the hell you are talking about. My yogi friends and I go to dinner and then go to class at 4:30 or 5:00.

<Vinay is also happy to rip off students with his internet access 4x the going rate at local internet centers (usually 40 ruppees an hour).> So you complain about paying roughly 50 cents an hour for internet access. God, you are really sick !!

Pinchey B*tt. You are one sorry, sorry excuse for a yogi. Why don't you crawl back into what ever sewer hole you came out of? Guest guest
When I went to India, once upon a time, I haggled like crazy. I didn't want to be ripped off; I thougth that I deserved the local price. In retrospect my stingyness makes me cringe. Here in washinton state, voters recently did away with what I thought was a perfectly good an fair way for the state to raise revenue. Used to be that the fee to register your car was proportional to its cost. People with more expensive cars paid more that those with '83 Datsuns. Now we have a flat rate for any vehicle (and, sadly alot less money for public transit, etc).
If its fair for other people to pay more than me here in the states where I'm poor, then it is surely fair for me to pay more in India, where I'm rich. Anyone who can go to india to study yoga for a period of time can afford to pay a little extra for internet access.
Guest guest
All of you myopic, self-absorbed americans, please remember this: despite what you may have learnt in grade school, there is a lot more to this world than america. Do you not realise that by freely throwing your money about, you jack up the prices for all the other foreigners? I was for quite a long time earning only US$500 and less per month. Can you imagine how hard it is to save up enough money to get to india? There are many Ashtanga practitioners in less affluent countries who have to really focus on putting aside sufficient funds to get to india and stay there for a decent length of time. Indians practically define foreigners as rich or at least richer than they are and few of them have any qualms about charging you an unconscionable higher price for goods and services than if you were local. By thoughtlessly and unwittingly, without demur or protest, paying triple or quadruple or whatever is demanded for rent, food and transport you're causing hyper-inflation for ALL yoga students that dwindles whatever funds that we goto india with. Think about it. Your inconsiderate actions are directly responsible for reducing the chances of others from places like south america, eastern europe, asia etc to practice under guruji. I will continue to haggle for a price that reflects the broad market value for whatever goods and services I receive when in mysore.

btw, vinay justifies his internet charges because of a "dedicated" line for the connection which makes it faster that other places. absolute crock of shit. it's about as fast or slow as anywhere else. Guest guest
As a world traveler who is neither myopic (vision 20/12) nor self absorbed more than is necessary to keep a certain perspective, I can say from direct experience that Sri KP's fees are not a result of the US economy. I have considered every journey to be next to him a deal. His fees the first time around were from five of us putting together $500 for him to leave his homeland and and travel to a distant shore to teach us those things he worked so hard for. Those prices have kept pace with inflation over the last 25 years. How many foreign students have paid his fees over those years? Divide by each nationality and point the blame in proportion if you must.

How much do you pay for a gallon of gas or a liter of water? The Guru's teachings and blessings are the best deal on planet earth. Light on Yoga is not just the name of a book. Live the life, good luck with practice.

Yours in yoga.
