I have the zen clock which has the chime that

starts out slowly. I love it because the sound is not

jarring at all. Mine never gets past the first chime

though. That's enough to wake me & then I turn it off.

The only time I've heard it go all out was when I

first bought it & played with it a bit. Another nice

thing is that it doesn't disturb my husband when I get

up early.

i've always found alarms to be kind of

superfluous. don't you find, after you have used the alarm for

a while to wake at a cetain time, that you wake up

around that time, whether or not the alarm has gone off?

maybe i've just got this weird time bend but i can sort

of wake up when i need to, within 10-15 minutes. i

can't stand to be woken up, gently or otherwise

I still need a little coaxing sometimes to get

up. I still find 4:50 a little early. I must admit I

like my sleep when I can get it. I'm trying to figure

out how I can practice without getting up so early. I

find that I'm so much stiffer than if I practice later

in the day....and those extras zzzz's would be sooo

nice!

I have only been practicing for about a 9 months

now and am trying hard to create a regular practice.

My current schedule requires me to be away from home

for 13+ hours a day, meaning that I need to get up

around 4:30 in order to practice in the morning. I am

finding that my alarm seems to set the tone for both my

practice and my day...ie, if I wake before the alarm I am

happy and peaceful and if I wake to the alarm I am

unfocused and grouchy.

I have heard great things

about the Zen clock - has anyone tried the sunrise?
