Guest guest
to date i've figured out the following tell tale signs, feel free to add your own.

1. have tattoos
2. are not spw
3. are not SPJ or sharath (don't know if manju is a criminal or not but until proof is given, he is, of course, a criminal)
4. have ever published a book, a video, a list of stick figures illustrating the postures, sold a cloth mat or otherwise made a cent or ruppee from trying to help others learn ashtanga yoga.
5. charged more than the going rate for chapati's and lentils.
6. eat anything other than raw rutabaga, swiss chard, or carrot puree.
7. ever use a medicine or, god forbid, use your professional skills to recommend a medical treatment
8. curl your finger and thumb into a circle when not in padmasana
9. are stiff
10. are a "nazi" (from what i can tell, if #2 applies, then you are at risk for this category as well)
; )
Guest guest
If an ashtanga teacher uses a prop in class, does that make him/her a yoga crim ??
Guest guest
Thank goodness, okrgr1, that you are frequently bored by your job. It means the rest of us won't get bored by this board! Oh, do you make me laugh.

Can I play, too? Here are some additions to your list of signs of the yoga crims!

-Burn incense
-Practice naked
-Engage in partner poses
-Are fat
-Have never been to Mysore
-Practice outside, esp. on rooftops, with no cow dung in sight
-Read any books or watch any videos or listen to any cassettes put out by the crims listed previously
-Suffer from back, neck, or shoulder pain (It's all in your head!)
-Enjoy Joan Jett, Sting, or, more recently, Danny Paradise (did you see the profile in last Sunday's NYTimes?)

See how much I have learned from reading all these postings! Guest guest
The excellent lists posted earlier omit 2 crucial elements that SPW specifically outlined in her earlier treatise: not having perfect form (as sanctioned by either SWP or Guruji); and practicing in the front row.

I tremble at the thought.
