yes, one has to adopt something of a practical

approach to the notion of non-violence/love. to think that

one could exist in the world today without

contributing in some way to the death of other humans, animals

or plants is not rational. to live in a house, to

own furniture, even to read a paper is to have

contributed to the death of trees. to own a motorcycle or car

with a leather seat or use any other product from an

animal is to have enabled that animal to die. to

purchase much of the clothing currently available is to

have contibuted, even inadvertently, to human slavery

in sweat shops around the world. the world is a hard

place. ahimsa is an ideal, and like most will at best be

only approximated. perhaps the measure of the person

or soul is how closely one can approach the

asymptote or ideal
