Guest guest
yes, one has to adopt something of a practical approach to the notion of non-violence/love. to think that one could exist in the world today without contributing in some way to the death of other humans, animals or plants is not rational. to live in a house, to own furniture, even to read a paper is to have contributed to the death of trees. to own a motorcycle or car with a leather seat or use any other product from an animal is to have enabled that animal to die. to purchase much of the clothing currently available is to have contibuted, even inadvertently, to human slavery in sweat shops around the world. the world is a hard place. ahimsa is an ideal, and like most will at best be only approximated. perhaps the measure of the person or soul is how closely one can approach the asymptote or ideal
