Guest guest
let's see, mine is probably not as earthy as that:
ashtanga has helped me get over my golfing habit (which had previously gotten me over my surfing habit). not good enough? how about: ashtanga has helped me avoid an astronomical bill for my tenth anniversary. we were going to go back to Lanai, HI where we honeymooned, but now my wife wants to go to a yoga workshop instead. SCOOORE!! how about ashtanga has pretty much segregated me from most of my old aquaintences because they all think i'm a little wonky for doing yoga. i got my revenge by luring a couple of them to a class and watching them HATE life for 70 minutes
Guest guest
Jao!!!Why do you say hate life?
ok okrgrl
you must mean that those people had trouble with "correct method"

heard any good yoga jokes lately?
Guest guest
they didn't have a problem with the correct method, they had a problem with any method--it was work!! they were hating life, or more accurately, hating ever knowing me for getting them to agree to come to a yoga class. they sorta thought yoga was this thing with incense, and swami's and people sitting around with their legs crossed and fingers in curly cues. right about the time their heart rates got up to 140, they clued in that they might have underestimated what they were agreeing to . they quickly figured out that yoga involved a lot more than they were willing to do. so it was hasta la vista, baby. as el senior says, ashtanga is not for every one. Not totally cured yet, but drinking less and less wine, more and more water.

Once I have gained enough self-reliance, I shall tell this to a larger audience. Something better than anonymous alcoholics...
Guest guest
ashtanga assisted me in getting over the death of ma dawg.

auld shep, he was my crutch (well, he kept sniffing mine). He used to watch me doin the sun sals, sniggering behind his paws, using me as his personal lampost during trikonasana...

It's just not the same, without that warm trickle down my leg. Guest guest
ashtanga can ameliorate addictions. fact. if the the body is a temple, then ashtanga yoga is the congregration singing "allelujah!" (or Om Namah Shivaya). Blessings to all, E_SJ
