Guest guest
namaste-
First of all, thanks to all who have taken the time to explain their practice habits. I guess I'm a little nosey about everyone who is in this club. I don't have many friends who are serious ashtanga practitioners and I would like to make some, which is why I get frustrated being in the dark with the profiles. I personally have never been harassed because of my public e-mail. I have met a few nice people, though.

Claudia(duddelde)-You're right about one of my beloved teachers. Did you take classes with him in Germany? He always softly speaks a profound statement during his classes-"Open heart, open mind." I always go back to that one.
He gave me the courage to attend Mysore classes. A great inspiration.

I have taken several workshops over the year, and the best teacher I have EVER had (hosted and recommended by Suddha) has been Dena Kingsburg. She usually goes by just "Dena." She is from Australia. If you are lucky enough to have her come and teach in your area, don't miss it. She is one of the highest level senior teachers certified.

I always shoot for 6 days primary a week, but often fall to 5 or swap a day for an Iyengar class. I take 2 Mysore a week, and would take more, only there's not enough people here to fill those classes. I used to practice sometimes at 8 am, sometimes a early evening class. But recently I have been quite strict and happy with a daily 8 am practice. I don't like being so flexible in the evening. I kind of feel vulnerable, and often over stretch. Plus I get too "wired."

Oh, Claudia, I don't teach African style, only Afro-Cuban & Latin. Must have been another Lisa?

Keep those workshop recommendations coming! Guest guest
Lisa, I lived in Evanston and Lincoln Park for several years before moving back to Germany. Don´t want to miss that time. Amazing winters and snowstorms and I kept trying to ride my bike because transportation was a mess. I studied with Suddha in Chicago.
Dena Kingsberg is pregnant now so I don´t think we will see her anytime soon. I only have heard good things about her. One has probably to travel to Australia now.

I suffered from being "wired" after late evening and morning practise. There were intense times where I could barely sleep at night. I still had plenty of energy but it felt weired "not to leave this world" at night. I started to take 8-10 breath in each asana and I sleep like baby now. I believe taking only 5 breath didn´t give me enough time to relax in the postures.
Claudia
Guest guest
namaste Claudia~
You like the winters here? I think they are the most difficult time. Too long, too cold. I've lived here my whole life. You think I would be used to it by now. It's funny, but most people I know who aren't native love the winters. Go figure.

Dena was actually almost ready to pop when she taught here. I heard she already had the baby. She was even more inspirational with her pregnent belly not getting in her way at all.

Do you ever get to these parts anymore?
