Guest guest
Guruji teaches Ashtanga Yoga - admittedly there are many other teachers of Ashtanga Yoga out there - he has not attached the name to his system of Asanas - it is only fixation in the minds of practioners that associates Ashtanga Yoga merely with a particular sequence of postures.

Unfortunately, if you dont get the chance to study with Guruji, you will never really know what he is teaching. Guest guest
I don't presume to speak for Guy, but I agree with the idea that there is something truly unique and unquestionably powerful in knowing Pattabhi Jois personally.
He teaches you about grace, humility and courage. He instills faith and reverence for yourself and others. As I've said in this forum before, he teaches things you can't learn out of books. I've been fortunate enough to experience the compassion and love that are Pattabhi Jois, and if Guy, myself or any other practitioner is able to spread this to another person, then our job is done. It's more than the mechanics of Ashtanga that are important, it's the opening of your heart and mind, the unfettering of your angel wings. Guest guest
I think you hit the gist, that much is given via the way a teacher presents the yoga "techniques."

Very hard to pin it down, this difference, but I belive there's a definite qualitative difference is the transmission from good teachers that might be found lacking in a lesser teacher offering the same "techniques."
