Guest guest
I was never much attracted to astrology before being introduced to yoga, and at this point I still don't know very much about divining the effects of the heavenly bods on my less than heavenly bod..

Being of a skeptic's temperment, I tend to look for results before investing in belief. That being so, I side with Ken Wilber's comments on astrology found in his book ONE TASTE.

In a nutshell: the claims of the astrologers have been tested in many experiments. The conclusion of these experiments have disproven most everything that points to astrology, or any astrologer, as having real powers of divination.

A typical example: dozens of experienced astrologers have been tested on their readings of one individual. A hundred different interpetations of the _same_ chart is the result...

(However, sexperiments -- the Gauquelin studies --have clearly indicated that certain aspects of astrology show unexplainable accuracy in determining the intelligence of certain people born at certain times. However, this correspondence is arguably a very marginal one.)

Still and all, astrology is a beautiful thing to me, even if it doesn't necessarily help me know the future or avoid calamity. My awareness of my place in God's universe is expanded by the poetry of the stars and planets.

And I believe in taking off on moon days, even if there has never been any study that links "loony" behavior to the phases of the moon.
