Guest guest
well, heres an auspicious day for ya, friday the 13th, and a full moon- at least my kids think its a spooky day, they call it freaky friday.

AnyWHO- i never took any notice of full moons regarding practice perhaps until this year trying to go traditionally. For some reason, full moons always fall on days when i really want to practice so it took some restraint to not do it. What made me stop was the post some time ago and restated recently that you are more prone to injury and that any incurred on the day would take longer to heal- heh, true or not, that was enough for me to stop. From there I started observing new moon non practice as well.

Since taking that break, I've really enjoyed paying attention to the look of the moon. I never really noticed how quickly it can change on a nightly basis. Without trying to be a drip, I like looking at it and wondering if what im seeing over here in Oz is the same as what my fam and friends are seeing over in Calif. Also, the night sky was so unbelievably bright last night from the beginning of the full moon that there were shadows. Living at the beach, i like watching the difference in the tides as well- so anyway, observing moon days helps me appreciate some of the natural wonders that have been going on my whole life without too much notice. My friend told me she only does her garden planting during full moon and she went into some groovy shpiel about the moon that i wish i could remember but she did make it seem almost holidaylike. One thing that occurred to me last night was how that if something as mammoth as the moon can change so quickly, how our little tiny lives just pass right before your eyes and how time is just zoomin'by, innit? I wish it would slow down just a little bit.

But seriously folks, im a wierdo (or weirdo) and the reason i like observing full moon is because the wackos really do come out- wierd shit always goes down, baby! Sometimes funky outta the box things happen, sometimes its more subtle things, but when you pay attention to it, there does always seem to be some undercurrent of SOMETHING that makes the day a little bit different than the rest.

Now, as per why taking off saturday, im trying to be traditional and do six day practice, with saturday off, so this particular month, the full moon on friday is followed by the day off day, saturday.

have a nice full moon friends,

s
