Guest guest
is a dangerous thing"
-Voltaire

what i find problematic is the hostile tribal view that any "club" can engender especially if the voices of the club are camouflaged and full of rancor. I am a little relieved, however, that there is some sense of pluralism and differing opinion, otherwise there would the possibility of a "virtual" lynching.

At any rate, I don't want to sound like a politician by defending my record though i do feel it necessary to respond to a protopsychotic slandering menace who hides behind a picture of smiling guruji. I will say I practiced every day i was touring for the five weeks; practiced intermediate when those classes were offered, bowed before the guru's feet with emotional gratitude and joy, and only received warm approval from Pattabhi and Sharath for what I contributed.

The inception of the shirts came from oil paintings that I made out of the inspiration and love I have experienced while on this path. I actually only made the shirts at the behest of others who enjoyed the limited edition prints enough to suggest they be available to many more people. It did seem that the tour was a great opportunity to share the intention, with whatever risks of disapproval coming from those who might be inclined to misinterpret the act as motivated by profit or anything else construed as unseemly.

The reason for the price of $27 is multi-pronged:
1) part of proceeds go to ashtanga yoga research institute institute.
2) the cost to manufacture this graphic on high quality cotton shirts was expensive.
3) It was a way of financing my plane ticket to Hawaii so I could continue to practice for another three weeks with Guruji.

who would not want to do such a venture as a way of enabling continued practice and experience with their teacher?

The final concern of fading... These prints are digital outputs, not screens, so they are more delicate. I tried to tell everybody I sold to not to use bleach or machine dry. They require special care. If I do another batch where there is more time and wherewithal I will make screened versions. But for now the digitally outputted shirts are one edition of 800 and they are a cultural artifact of this historic event.

Having "set the record straight" I do hope there any lingering misunderstandings have been assuaged.

I still have some left for sale. email for more info.
