Guest guest
Thanks for asking, okrgr1. Actually, I didn't make it. (I ended up working late). I did, however, email the centre and ask about which class would be appropriate for me to start in, and was told in their reply that I should start with a Mysore class. That's a bit intimidating, though maybe it shouldn't be. I might build up to a class tonight (Friday), but am waiting to hear back whether or not it's full.

Thanks for the support. Guest guest
i think different teachers would give you different answers an what kind of class to start out with. if you feel comfortable with the sequence of postures (not that you can do them all well, just that you know the correct sequence and have a good idea of how they are supposed to be done), then mysore should be great. that presumes there are enough instructors to give you the appropriate evaluation and assistance. that's how it's taught at the big house in mysore, no reason you shouldn't get the same benefit in edinburgh. i know it's not easy to accept that no one will care whether you are "good" or not. we all probably had (have) the same concerns when we first started practicing in front of others. but, the instructors have seen it all before--from the frank beginner to the student who is more advanced than the teacher. they are there to help you, that's their profession. so go in with a happy mind, anticipating discovery. i'll think you'll enjoy it so much more.
