Guest guest
well, most of npr has become drearily predictable. ira glass remains a jewel in the crown, however. a master at cadence, timing and the use of perspective. he really is the only thing that can keep me listening during pledge week(s). and i don't mean his show--i mean his pledge week promotional spots. truely a genius--as is the rest of his crew. i haven't listened to his segment in a while (it's that sordid smoooooth jazz influence again) but that woman with the amazingly grating voice is great as well. but for some reason, mr sidaris is my favorite. i can just picture him so well as he goes thru his tribulations during his stories. you need only listen to him for 5 seconds to know that, here is a soul who probably spent the better part of grade school and junior high getting beat up for sounding like he does and being like he is. sort of a morbid fascination perhaps. a protagonist for any outcast or underdog.
