Guest guest
Dang, okrgr1, you're good. If you want to continue to hone your research skills, what can you find about osteochondritis dessicans? This condition plagues my boyfriend's knee by causing small pieces of the cartlige to come loose and move in and around in his knee joint. Last year there was a pea-sized nugget just underneath the skin that he could move around from one side of the knee to the other. Needless to say, when loose inside the joint they cause some trouble. Are you sufficiently intrigued to find out more? I hope so, because he had a small handful of bits removed arthroscopically a while back, but any bent legged postures are still a torture.

hula

(I have to admit that when I read okrgr1 my mind says okgirl. No offense please, or if so, please redirect it into searching the depths of your secret MD resources.)
Guest guest
osteochondritis dessicans (OCD): not as much on this one, at least for the knee. several sites discussed the same illness for other joints and there were a lot of veterinarian sites for the same problem. here's the best i could glean from and google:

a link to a lecture on OCD--approx 17 minutes long. (you need realplayer to hear it and to view the slides. if you don't have realplayer you can down load the FREE one from their site at www.real.com):

http://www.bayviewortho.com/education/OCD/ocd.htm

a textbook web page--readable, is in outline form and seems to follow much of the same info in the lecture above:

http://www.medmedia.com/oo1/68.htm
