Interesting post. I stayed at Larry's place in

Kealakekua, I believe David Swenson was in Tokyo at the time

working as a Hare Krishna.

David is a friend but

our lives have been radically different with the

exception we are both surfers and long time students of Sri

KP. Yes, before Tim Miller and Larry

Schultz.

Yours in yoga,

So I guess you have been falsely outed!

I

thought of you when I heard this weird tale from the

bizarre election (on public radio, of course).

In

a small town in Michigan, election officials were

trapped in town hall by a huge black bear. The bear

prevented them from bringing their ballots to the county

hall. Unfortunately, the bear was deemed to be acting

abnormally and was shot.

Conspiracy by the pols? I

think we need to look at the black bear conspiracy...

You might call Gary Herlich and ask him. My wife

howled that there might be a case of mistaken identity

for the Big G. For those of you that do not know Gary

Herlich. He has a studio in North San Diego County, Solana

Beach, which has been KP Manju's home and base since his

decision to live in America in the mid 70's.

Gary

has no book or video but I'm sure has the American

record for # of sun signs performed. If you travel to

San Diego, check him out. If you need to know his

"status" as a certified big time Ashtanga yogi, ask Manju.

Senor:

When I met David in

Cardiff-by-the-Sea he was working on a surf film, which included he

and his brother riding waves South of the border. He

may have given it up but used to ride

waves.

May peace descend upon your limbs. (my favorite

What's the record for sun signs? I want to know.

Is it the number performed in single session or over

a lifetime.
I think I read somewhere that John

Friend (?) did 300 in a day. i thought that was pretty

impressive.

Yes, the wonderful David Swenson talks a lot

about surfing, and it seems to be a secondary activity

at his annual Costa Rica Astanga retreat. Whether or

not he is still engaged in it, surfing is part of his

life.

Takeitup2K: since everyone's taking

guesses now, are you the colorful DW of David's tales?
