Guest guest
So if I get you right it comes down to this: rather than resolve in the abstract who's right and who's wrong in various situations, the yogi focuses on developing his/her own compassion.

Let us not ask: What is it?
Let us go and visit.

-- T.S. Guest guest
homer,
from your postings, you strike as an extremely well read person with a wide range of interests and the ability to think and write with unusual depth and clarity. just curious about your interests--if you're of a mind to share, what attracted you to "things monastic"? the mathematical history? the catholic/zen/buddhist background? Guest guest
More a dilletante than well read, I fear. As for background perhaps that's bettr suited for the webpage someone was planning, in which we ashtangi tell our various stories. Who was putting that together?

Or better yet, maybe when we meet. I'm sure our paths will cross someday, as I would love to get out to Encinitas and see Tim Miller again. Ever since I met him at a workshop this past April I can't get him out of my head. Then I could get your story, too.

[bTW, just finished a practice and am feeling too laid back to argue about abortion.]

Peace and Goodnight everybody,
Homer
Guest guest
homer,it would be a pleasure to link up someday. if you manage get out our way, drop me a line. i've been curious how that astrology/math talk went. did you ever get a solution for your hamstring? my wife somehow developed a nagging ham pain that progressed to the point that she was beginning to worry about having to quit practice altogether. she finally got relief after working with a chiropracter we met at tim's place during class. in my ignorance,i had always considered many chiro's more as glorified masseurs/masseuses rather than health care providers. his work with her, however, has nearly completely resolved her pain. if you're still struggling with the discomfort, consider seeing one for a consult.
