Guest guest
It would be alot easier for the anguished philosophisers to simply become vegetarian in the knowledge that it will make your yoga practice and consequently your life much better.

I'm not taking a moralist point of view, but a purely practical one. What you eat becomes your body - fish flesh becomes your body, toxins accumulated in the fish become your body, the anguished adrenaline rush of the animals last moments of terror become your body and consequently your mind. Yoga and life improve greatly by becoming vegetarian.

If you become a vegetarian you will no longer have to justify to yourself that a fish has a smaller brain than a cow, therefore it is acceptable to have it killed for your pleasure.

As far as the argument about the death penalty and abortion go, there is a significant difference:

A death sentence is ordered by law (therefore represents the public will)

An abortion is an individual choice - a private moral dilemna.
