Guest guest
If you have ever felt confused about addressing your non-vegetarianism to a dear vegetarian friend, here are a few pointers.

1) Non vegetarians often list reasons why they are not vegetarian.
*UNNECCESSARY.

If you have to say anything at all then simply state you are not vegetarian. That is sufficient. Everyone is entitled to their own journey. (I respect that and understanding it like this has made my life soooo much easier.)

2)And the next step is for non-vegetarians to say they have stopped eating ______, BUT they still eat that, that and that.
(and oh my god this part can really drag out if it starts getting into the reasons)

*DON'T PERSUE THE TOPIC OF NON-VEG ITEMS!

If.... with all this peer pressure or for you own reasons..(i'm not saying you should feel this way, just IF)..you feel odd that you are not vegetarian then simply add that you're "working up to it".

What is really uncomfortable is to hear specifics mentioned about things WE do not eat. Don't go there out of your own guilt please, it causes cringing. Eat it, but don't make us listen to it. Here is the reason: to have a conviction is one thing, but to put it into practice REALLY takes a CONVICTION if you get my drift. Have mercy on your vegetarian friends.

It is okay to not be vegetarian. It gets old to us to listen to who is not vegetarian in order to justify your choice. No justifications needed. You being you and being a friend is enough.
