Guest guest
post-full moon-early -winter stiffness

Has anyone else felt particularly stiff in their asana practice around this full moon or am i alone in this? Yesterday, today...OW! I'm taking desperate measures here.

Oh yes we shouldn't measure our poses but i do have one particular pose which, if i can eek it out on a stiff day like today, things are still ok.

It's so funny...someone asked in an earlier post what people do to progress(do they do extra stretches as home...what?) And a deafening silence fell over this board on that topic.

We resort to desperate measures we cannot talk about baby. Some even fall pregnant (relaxin). Guest guest
Yes! I only got pregnant so I could finally get my knees to the floor in badda konasana! I'm so ashamed!

Actually, I do sit around the house in b.k. and it seems to have helped somewhat in the hip opening department, but that's all I'll admit to. Guest guest
gawd yes -
Around this time i wanna resort to the howling dog pose: turn my nose to the round moon, put my front paws over mine eyes at the thought of my poses and say OOOOOOOoooooooo.

Any tips for this prevailing stiffness?

Add to this dilemma with a few extra pounds around the waist and all i wanna do when class-time arrives, is stay in bed with the covers over my head. Guest guest
I do baddha konasana, or "ankle-to-knee pose" which I find more effective, whilst watching TV. Thus I can tell myself "I'm not really watching Xena Warrior Princess, I'm actually practicing yoga whilst simultaneously improving my German". But that is as low as I'm prepared to stoop. I would definitely not go as far as getting pregnant. You are a disgrace.

I am a disgrace too - I practiced on the full moon on Saturday, although only because we had a workshop with a visiting teacher. Have been in the grip of a major wave of emotional negativity ever since, which probably serves me right.
