Guest guest
The November issue of "Yoga and Health" has an article on AVY, which is an extract from a new book by Liz Lark called "Astanga Yoga" (same as the new John Scott book?). Interestingly, the piece mentions that the first ever foreign student of Jois in the 1960s - before David Williams and Norman Allen - was the Belgian, Andre van Lysbeth, who alone is responsible for the excellent yoga scene in Belgium (although his teaching is more "classical"). Anyway, the book looks good.

More suspect is a book mentioned on an enclosed advertisement from the Tao of Books (otherwise an excellent mail order source for yoga and health books: www.taobook.com) called "The complete idiot's guide to power yoga" by Geo Takoma. The blurb mentions "Quick and easy techniques", "idiot-proof steps", "a calorie-burning workout designed for maximum fitness impact". "The yogi Geo takes traditional yoga and beefs it up to help participants lose weight ...etc etc" Who is this guy?
