Guest guest
In John Robbins book, Diet For a New America, there is a chapter where he explains why the human digestive system is built in such a way that it can be identified as that of an herbivore. Animals who are carnivores have a very distinctive digestive system as do those built to eat plants only. The human system is exactly that of an herbivore - a long more complex intestinal system than those carnivores who have a very short, sometimes non existent small intestine. Common sense explains why this would be so - ie. plants take more time and energy to digest, therefore the more complex system.<br>Humans can obviously eat and digest meat and any other food less complex than plants, but the evidence shows that eating meat regularly causes disease in humans.
