One shala I visited featured a conga-line of ants

traversing the baseboards and wall like the Mountain Madness

expedition. bug phobic to some degree, at first I was

appalled, then later considered that compassion towards

these creatures was an expression of the teacher's

ahimsa. But I've seen no ants in some time, so maybe what

I saw was actually an expression of the dry season,

a Wha Guru Chew wrapper in the pail, or the

teacher's apathy. I have Don't Know mind on the topic these

days.
