Guest guest
sun, how's the pyrenees trek looking? was curious when we talked about this last time but i didn't want to interject anything that might actually have something to do with the topic of the forum: when you guys do your walks, trips etc., do you keep your practice going or do you defer until you get back. do you camp along the way or hostel/hotel it? Guest guest
thanks for asking, okiedokie. We might have a change of plans: we are thinking of going to our beloved Thailand in Feb. instead of Spain. If we postpone the walk, it won't be for too long, though.

As far as the walk goes, you can stay for free or a nominal donation at the monastaries along the way; it's a holy pilgrimage walk and these places have been serving "pilgrims" for centuries. Supposedly you do need a sleeping bag.

Your other question: about practicing. We usually bring our mats on the road. Often we stay a while in one place, get into a routine, and can practice regularly. On the Camino, however, I can't see even bringing the mats because of the space limitations. Anyway, I seriously doubt I'd be able to regularly practice much more than sun salutations while on the camino-- oh well! (:
