Guest guest
This ia a response to okrgr1's post on the yoga korunta.

I'm also no expert, but as the people in the know aren't very forthcoming with details, I might as well spill what I've learned regarding the credibility of the yoga korunta story.

Basically I'm really dubious of the whole thing. Here's why:

1. The yoga korunta is not the only no-longer-available text Krishnamacarya claimed to have rediscovered. In his book "Health, Healing and Beyond" (basically a biography of his dad) TKV Desikachar relates that K had told him that portions of the lost text "yoga rahasya" by the ninth-century yogi Nathamuni were spoken to K. by the late Mr. Nathamuni while K. was in trance. D. later transcribed the "text" from K.'s dictation. According to D. the yoga rahasya contains a lot of ideas that would have been considered innovative even in K.'s time, e.g., yoga for women, especially during preganancy.

2. No time for this point. Gotta turn off the lights. More tomorrow.

Peace and Good,
Homer
