Guest guest
"...how do you enter Vinyasa from Sirsasana?...
How many breaths does it take?"

as far as I know: ...from chakrasana into vinyasa; from "downward facing" into headstand as smoothly as possible; 25-100 breaths in headstand (straight legs); on exhale bring legs down half way - straight; 5 (or more) breaths with legs parallel to the floor/90 degrees to torso (bandhas!); inhale while straightening the legs again, exhale - bring legs down until feet touch floor (slowly and legs straight), still same exhale continue into child's pose - arms stretched out in front, take five deep breaths, on sixth inhale lift head - put weight on hands, exhale into the jump back; - vinyasa...

"Is doing Child`s Pose after Sirsasana for the wimps only?"

-No!

"David Swenson is in the fast lane anyway. What so, just one exhalation to enter full Lotus
from Dandasana?"

Where do you go into lotus from dandasana?
The five breaths Dandasana (a helping pose for beginners, it is inserted at the beginning of first series before foreward bends) is not really part of the series, - it is important to practice it until precision in breathing (no extra breaths) is reached.

Generally, one aims at counting each single breath: ...(sixth) inhale- jump into sitting position (you could say "dandasana" - but it is not held as a posture); exhale into position; inhale look up, make position firm; exhale downward into position; five breaths; inhale - look up (stretch); exhale there; inhale - hands on floor, lift; exhale - jump back; -...vinyasa etc.

- hope this helps...
