Guest guest
I studied with BNS Iyengar for one month. BNSI said himself that Pattabhi Jois (under whom he studied, too) is the best choice as a teacher with authority in asana sadhana - and that if one can afford it, one should seek to study with him. (Honesty and humility are good qualities in a teacher.) e.g. Lino Miele studied asana with BNSI at a time when he was having little money and couldn't afford KPJs classes.

BNSI's focus is on the first two series of asanas, pranyama, yoga philosophy etc. Although he does teach advanced series A and prepares several super-advanced young Indian yogis for national yoga asana competitions, he maybe never mastered all the advanced asanas series himself (while KPJ did).

BNS is a wonderful man and teacher - he will instruct beginners in pranayama, mudra, chakras, meditation, kriyas etc. - one can have different opinions whether this is good or bad; he is a little bit chaotic and he will challenge his students! He is very approachable and his yoga shala is a beautiful place where Indian and foreign students mix - different from KPJ's where the only Indians in the room all morning are Sharath and KPJ himself.
