Guest guest
There is a Buddhist parable that says something about a student looking at the masters finger instead of looking where it is pointing.
When I take the class i don't want to be just doing the poses. Or in other words i don't want to be just looking at the masters finger. Is there any wisdom you people can share with me to bring me to a deeper understanding of what is all about? Please share.
-Jesus.
Guest guest
An experienced teacher will let you know where to focus your gaze during practice...

When I studied for several months with KP Manju with just one other student in my beginning Ashtanga days, I asked Manju many questions. Usually he would laugh (making me laugh) and say go drink a beer and have some pizza. The next day would always be an intense session of maybe 100 A sun signs and 10 sets of 5X backbends. Not many postures, just major repetition, focus and breathing.

His point. Do the yoga, it doesn't have to be a great # of postures and the answers will come. The more time we spent together the more we just laughed. Best of luck with your practice.

Yours in yoga,
Guest guest
If you walk into class and tell them you are Jesus you will probably see a lot more than pointing fingers!

T.
