Guest guest
why do i have to wade thru so much crap to get to any ashtanga info? alot of this personal chat would be better done privately thru e-mail. why not do that and spare the rest of us the monotony? nobody wants to hear about your kids first crap or your dating habits. who cares? it's like the cell phone abusers blah blah blahing in public. please show a little common decency. give us a break.<br><br>joe c
Guest guest
I get your point and you are right, but I am new here and a few of us have had a nice time getting to know eachother a bit. I do not give out my email address to just anyone. Why do you have to be a jerk with your comment? I guess there is one in every group. Always easy to hide and be an asshole. Point taken, but you could have been a nicer human being about it. Geez...Sandy
Guest guest
Is there a Senor Pinchy imitator on board? You could be a bit more clever about it...
Guest guest
I wonder if this entails an intellectual property rights violation of El Senor's name.
Guest guest
Hey Sunshine, you gonna watch certain speeches tonight? (Do you get them in Vancouver?)<br>As for Pinch Loaf, no more intellectuaal property rights violation than the original's use of KPJ's photo!<br><br>"Who's the real Pinche Wey?" Guest guest
<<why do i have to wade thru so much crap to get to any ashtanga info?>><br><br>obviously, you don't have to wade thru any of it if you don't want to. maybe, you get out of it what you put in. what have you got to offer? <br><br>today was an unusual day--almost 100 posts. maybe a little pent up energy looking for a release now that there is no election controversy to debate about. some days here are just the opposite, 5-7 desultory posts about the meaning of the angle of the pinky in a given 3rd series pose or some one like me looking for an ashtanga instructor in podunck, oklahoma. not everyday is going to feed your fire. <br><br>there's a lot of different people here, more every day. if the forum has evolved in such a way that it's not what you want, take a break for 3-4 weeks and come back. it will have changed. or start another one. after all, if there's room for over 750 clubs on bondage, surely another ashtanga board can be accomodated.<br><br>some people come here primarily for the opportunity to learn about the other people who do ashtanga. should be room for all. you always have the power of the mouse button. click or don't click. to read or not is your decision. by now you should have a good sense which of us post theory and teachings and which tend to converse about more every day aspects of our lives. just ignore those of us in the latter group if you want
Guest guest
oh well sun, one out of two elections isn't too bad. there's always the solace of a nice dark stout or porter or whatever works well for the downer days. besides, whoever 'won' the election this year will likely feel very much like a loser in 2-3 years. Guest guest
hey rhojo, keep on keeping on. every day gained is the start of a new life. remember also, there's no such thing as " no slip ups" or "no backsliding". we all screw up. but, don't let 'almost made it' be your goal. this is life and death stuff you're facing. give it your all. when and if you slip, get up swinging. you and your family are worth it. Guest guest
Ashtanga is about many things but in the beginning it is about purification. It is NOT exercise or relaxation.<br><br>El Senor Pinche Wey
Guest guest
Undrugged for six days - great & congratulations! Apart from reading this messageboard please remember your practise also - six times per week, if possible. What ashtanga yoga does not cure, can not be cured. Ashtanga helps with addictions - fact. Guest guest
I didn't read the original post to which you were responding R., but you touched on some feelings I've had upon reading some of the posts. I am attracted to ashtanga exactly because I hope it will help me to be a better person in relation to how I live my life and treat others and hope it will help me get closer to god or the universe or whatever what is. I do find it disturbing to read some of the posts that are negative and critical in tone and content and focused on a seemingly sort of exclusionary eliteness. I have also found a lot of valuable information and answers to questions I have been much too shy to ask my teachers. So I take what I like and leave the rest. There are also those here who seem very welcoming and genuine to those of us who are a little newer to practice and for them I am most grateful. Congratulations on six days! That is amazing. Whatever you are doing, keep up the good work! KJMJ
