Guest guest
another question for you dani, or sue the yogageek or any of the rest of you southern hemisphereans:

do we really come off looking as bad from this election as those hoity-toity europeans would like us to believe. if there's anyone who doesn't suffer fools gladly, it's you aussie's, so give it to us straight. or was it no big deal, back page news, well after the footie results? Guest guest
No, it was front page news all the way through. I have to disappoint you in two things: firstly I'm not an Aussie but half-Italian, half-Swiss, raised in Syria, so I won't give you my opinion. But the Aussies all around me were shaking their heads for sure!!! People saw it as "just another chapter in the american presidential soap opera" and nobody's allowed to get mad at me because i'm quoting exactly what somebody said. I think people found it quite mindboggling that anyone would consider voting for either of the two, but especially Bush, because even though Aussie english is not the best, I guess the leader of the most powerful country in the world should at least be able to pronounce what he's saying, no? But you guys are probably all switched on enough to know this. So I'm afraid that the second disappointment is that the answer to your first question is yes.
