Guest guest
Hi John - well, I'm coming at this from an american perspective but i was quite surprised how much coverage it got over here-Many times news from the US takes on that 'only in wacky America' perspective' and while there is that tone to this (eg election story on The Australian front page today re Colin Powell says'Meet America's New Leaders (and George Bush)' ) I think the coverage here is fair and thorough- i dont think it would be an easy job to explain electoral college and all the legal ping ponging that went on to another country. Also, Australia has had some voting garbage ( in Queensland) going on in the last few weeks as well so does anyone yet have the perfect system? One aside, we had a thanksgiving party and had a mock election with about 50 guests voting- (all australians, one canadian)- bush won by one and that was after two recounts!best s
