Guest guest
Hi Doc

Mountain bike. I personally find road cycling boring (to do - although I'm an avid Tour de France fan on TV). They had the first big snowfall of the season in Austria on Saturday - enough to make cycling too unpleasant and dangerous, not enough for snowboarding yet. Very beautiful, though.

I haven't climbed for a few years. I just don't find pushing myself to the limit and getting scared on hard technical climbs appealing any more. Things that I do still find appealing are bouldering and long, non-technical alpine ridges. But there's no decent bouldering anywhere near where I live. There are, of course, hundreds of glorious alpine ridges but the difficulty is finding somebody to go with - I find that people who have the technical ability to be fast and safe on that sort of ground generally want to do harder things, whereas I don't any more.

I'd love to hit Joshua tree with you if I'm ever in southern California, as long as I don't have to ride there from San Diego.
