Guest guest
What fun! Fill it up with warm water (purified water, not tap) with a little salt in it, I suppose about a quarter teaspoon, and stir to dissolve it. Fit the spout into your right nostril and tilt your head to the left -- you'll probably have to adjust your head angle a little, sometimes if you're tilted back too much water runs into your throat, which is a little unpleasant; I find tucking my chin usually helps. The goal is to get all the water flowing out the opposite nostril. You will have the thrill of thinking you've just had a big ocean wave forced up your nose, i.e., it's VERY odd at first, but then it's okay. When you're out of water, take the pot away and gently blow out through your nose (without holding either nostril closed) into the sink, then give yourself another gentle blow into a tissue or paper towel. Switch nostrils, repeat. Afterward, if you're still feeling a little plugged, a couple of trikonasanas will help restore your equilibrium.
Eating less or no dairy will also help if you have big mucus/phlegm problems.
Good luck!!
