Guest guest Posted December 21, 2000 Report Share Posted December 21, 2000 And now, Christmas comes early since I am leaving town and my internet connection.<br><br>T’was the night before Christmas and all ’cross the board,<br>Not a member was posting, not even one word.<br>The sticky mats had been washed down with great care:<br>The Christmasday-moonday gave them time to air.<br><br>Blondeismorefun was out earning her name: <br>Drinking and hitting on blokes without shame.<br>Alan Little stood savoring a fine stein of stout<br>As he wondered how his new photos would turn out.<br><br>Okrgr1 was planning to dine<br>With his wife Kiranken and a demon red wine.<br>Sunshine sat still, centered, smiling in lotus,<br>Stark naked! And hoping that Mike would soon notice.<br><br>Takeitup2K was spinning a story <br>From the good old days of Astanga’s first glory.<br>TLSlade, reviewing John Scott for his list,<br>Searched Amazon for any books he’d missed.<br><br>Word-master Dantrishan, wanting to talk,<br>Called overseas Laura, known as Towandauk.<br>Homerhanumat performed complex equations.<br>Laproxdoc dosed Advil for painful evasions.<br><br>Tschamoya was mixing her green drink cocktails.<br>And Yogamummy studied Magnetic snails.<br>Edenlotus was enjoying Relaxin.<br>Gaby worked on her website, but found it too taxin’.<br><br>From Down Under that night we could all hear a squeak:<br>Arms pushing through knees, it was Sue/Yogageek.<br>But where was Ishogun? Was he on the lamb<br>Along with the also long-absent Trayam?<br><br>Tiber66 had his pedicure done.<br>Godfrey Devereux was saluting the sun.<br>Missy Pinky bent her elbows to toes;<br>She finds herself quite comfortable in this pose.<br><br>Funkybadlady re-read her “Yoga Mala.”<br>And Guy Donahaye hurried home from his shala.<br>Field operatives told Senor Pinche Wey<br>Of yoga infractions committed that day.<br><br>And I was at home, with my bandhas relaxed<br>Snuggled up by the fire with wood I had axed.<br>When up on my roofdeck arose such a clatter:<br>I ran to the door to see what was the matter.<br><br>Flying up the back stairs, I spied, out of sorts,<br>A little bald man in CK undershorts.<br>It was Pattabhi Jois, and he was surrounded<br>By teachers, believe me, I was quite astounded!<br><br>Baron, Beryl and Bryan struck poses heart-rending.<br>But when they were done, Jois commented, “Just bending.”<br>Danny Paradise then tuned up for a song.<br>And Thom boldly asked if he could sing along.<br><br>David Life made the scene in his fanciest dress<br>With a babe in high heels, his wife Sharon, I guess.<br>Knowing that I would not be in Mysore soon<br>I called out a question by light of the moon:<br><br> “Dear Sri KPJ, you have traveled quite far:<br>How can I become an Astanga star?”<br>Then Pattabhi Jois did respond to my query:<br>“99 percent practice and 1 percent theory.”<br><br>Soon Gilgoff got goofy while Williams went wild.<br>Sharath and Manju stood by watching and smiled.<br>Their dad yelled, “You bad men, for what are you waiting?<br>We must take our leave now, so start levitating!”<br><br>“On Eddie, on Richard, on Lino and Tina,<br> On Chuck and Tim Miller, on David and Deena”<br>But KPJ sighed as they got themselves ready:<br>“Oh dear, we have misplaced our webmistress Betty.”<br><br>And as they soared off, I heard this refrain humming:<br>“Just do your practice and all, it is coming.” Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm already hitting print on my menu.<br><br>Also, its touching that I was actually noticed missing in action. Truly I have been on the lamb.
