Guest guest
Hi All

After some 18 months of astanga I recently began to reach a point where I felt I was moving fwd physically, vaguely realising that progress was not to be had from pushing myself but rather releasing(yes I'm a man!). However some two months ago after a couple of particularly good weeks(3-4 times per week) I experienced a distant and numb pain in my sacrum which specifically prevented any kind of fwd, bend obviously limiting my vinyasa's. I saw my osteopath who worked on the area and seemed to resolve the problem. Upon returning to a quiet yoga (slowly, slowly) a class of enthusiasm saw me in a great deal of pain. A visit to a cranial sacral therapist failed to resolve the problem as did a second visit to my osteopath. Now two months later my health is good but, despite much resting and slow awareness a fwd bend is still out of the question (this was an area in which I had no problems before). My sense is of having opened up an old, old injury or something perhaps more profound. Does anybody have any thoughts on this matter? One final point, I had a tatoo at the base of my back in September which HURT! Thanks for your patience, I dearly miss my old practice.
