Guest guest
i wonder if people have tried offering ashtanga yoga programs to correctional facilities populations? seems like that would be a perfect population to benefit
Guest guest
John: Martha Marcom, an Ashtanga teacher and very fine person in Columbus, Ohio, worked for a while with a fellow in prison. Some of his writings may still be on her Joyful Practice page -- see our club's links.

Peace
Homer
Guest guest
Last time I was in Oxford (for Lino Miele's workshop in March) some of the guys there were discussing a friend of theirs who was having some success teaching yoga in juvenile prisons. Aparently this friend was teaching some kind of fairly gentle "hatha yoga". People there were suggesting that ashtanga might actually be a more suitable approach for your typical juvenile prison population because of its structure, rigour and physical difficulty.

I'm afraid I didn't pick up any any more specific names or details
