Guest guest
Get real you pot smoking people. If you want to use Marijuana...whatever...but PLEASE don't use pathetic rationalization and finger pointing (What about sugar addicts etc. etc.) to try and convince others that it is a healthy habit. I'm sure a good many of us have experienced the buzz. Sure it feels good. Yoga feels better.

Effects on the Brain:
THC suppresses the neurons in the information-processing system of the hippocampus, the part of
the brain that is crucial for learning, memory, and the integration of sensory experiences with
emotions and motivation. Researchers have discovered that learned behaviors, which depend on the
hippocampus, deteriorate after chronic exposure to THC. Chronic abuse of marijuana also is
associated with impaired attention and memory, while prenatal exposure to marijuana is associated
with impaired verbal reasoning and memory in preschool children. Of possible relevance are findings
from animal studies showing that chronic exposure to THC damages and destroys nerve cells and
causes other pathological changes in the hippocampus.

For madonna ashtanga:
Effects on the Respiratory System:
Someone who smokes marijuana regularly may have many of the same respiratory problems that
tobacco smokers have. These individuals may have daily cough and phlegm, symptoms of chronic
bronchitis, and more frequent chest colds. Continuing to smoke marijuana can lead to abnormal
functioning of the lungs and airways. Scientists have found signs of lung tissue injured or destroyed
by marijuana smoke.

For Ashtanga Practitioners:
Effects of Use:
Within a few minutes of inhaling marijuana smoke, users likely experience dry mouth, rapid
heartbeat, some loss of coordination and poor sense of balance, and slower reaction times, along
with intoxication. Blood vessels in the eye expand. For some people, marijuana raises blood
pressure slightly and can double the normal heart rate. This effect can be greater when other drugs
are mixed with marijuana.

I agree with fredmelodb:Pot smoking is a bad,and as indignant as you want to be about it ILLEGAL habit. If you want to use it make peace with the reality of that.

What does Guruji say about pot smoking ? ESPW ?
Guest guest
got it pretty much on the head there warriorgirlca BUT i think you fuk it all up right at the end. the issue of legality is a very contentious one and sits very uncomfortably with the rest of your reasoning. id counsel against bringing it into any pro / anti pot (jeez that is a stupid sounding word) debate. were talking about free spirits here and to start banging on about the law, well. . . that's not to say that the issue of legality has not seriously fukked up some lives but it seems out of place in this discussion.

when you say 'make peace with that' do you mean the legality of cannabis or the accepted detrimental health aspects of it? completely support you if youre asking folk to stop kidding themselves that smoking is in some way positive (though that said it does have positive side effects), afer all, all but the most realised of us inhabit fantasy lives, but re legality. . . well see above.

incidentally i understand the word marijuana was picked up by the US administration (thirties i think) because of the rascist connotations that could be brought to bear on this obviously hispanic word. spose the best word is cannabis (being greek no rascist overtones applicable)!

hari om tat sat
