Guest guest
I am quite prone to comptetiveness and ambition to progress at times in my practice and have been appreciative of my abdominal muscle injury as it has given me the opportunity to not practice Ashtanga for a few weeks and instead practice some gentle hatha yoga. I am going to ease back into my Ashtanga practice starting tomorrow and just see what I can do. Still no jumping for a while though. I was advised to practice naulis and had one of the teachers instruct me on the techniques, but how many repititions of each? I have been doing 3 of each, is that right?
Feedback always welcome. Thank you and Namaste.--K.
Guest guest
I, too, have been guilty of yoga ambition -- I even thought a year ago that I would never get pregnant because it would sidetrack my progress too much. Well, guess what -- my so-called delicate condition has forced me to slow my Sherman's March through the first series and I can honestly say that I'm enjoying my practice more than ever, just being where I am. Pregnancy, like injury, can be a tremendous gift. I spend a lot of time in child's pose, but so what. No vinyasas between sitting poses, but so what. Jump-throughs, HA! Maybe next year. Free your mind and the rest will follow.

Thanks to all for their good wishes! I really appreciate it.
Eden
Guest guest
Divine self,
To be competitive is the basic instinct of every individual and yoga practice is no exception. The practice of ashtanga pushes anyone to be more competitive and in the process one generally gets injured due to this ambitious practice. When there is any injury better to go slowly avoiding those movements which hurt and wait for the recuperation.Seeking the practical guidance of the teacher is always good and safe.
Yours in yoga
Viswanath
1.THE FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATIONS
2.THE SHOFAR OF MOSES
3.MISSPARTS
