Guest guest
There's been much written and much claimed about the benefits of "awakening the kundalini." But practically speaking, just how accurate are these claims?

How many people have awakened the kundalini? How many have claimed to awakened this power, yet haven't demonstrated enlightened behavior -- that is, selfless, greedless, egoless and non-harming behavior to others?

Yogi Bhajan and Swami Muktananda both claimed to be great exponents of awakened kundalini, yet both of them turned out to be nothing less than scumbags.

Gopi Krishna also claimed to have awakened the kundalini. While he was apparently a good man, it's not clear to me that his numinous experiences did him any real good.

I myself have had numinous and subtle experiences through meditation which, I believe, were much more than merely the results of wishful thinking. While these experiences were sometimes intense and lasting for days on end, they all passed away in time.

Seems to me that much the talk about kundalini is just that -- talk, or rather the perpetuation of a half-true mythology. Otherwise, we'd see some people about who'd clearly and permanently changed their lives through awakening the serpent power.
