Guest guest
Well, I'm getting better at bujapedasana. I can hold it for like 5 breaths now. But I can't figure out how to (a) flip onto my head, and (b) get into tittibhasana. Anyway, there was this guy at class tonight...I have NO CLUE what he was doing. Maybe you could enlighten me on what you think of the situation. Or maybe he was just being weird and...well, being weird. During the suryanamaskars, he started with his legs apart, when he folded into utanasana, he put his hands in this weird japanese bow looking hand gesture, and when he brought his arms up over his head (right before ending a round), he clapped them together really loud. Before utihita (sp?) hastapadangustasana, he would kick his leg forward, kick it to the side (this almost made me laugh because it reminded me of a country line dance), and then grab his toe. When in the pose, he made these funny grunting noises, kind of like what a pig in heat might sound like. ) Next, in...uh...whatever the sanskrit word is for bound half lotus standing forward bend, he would pick up his foot and start to bind, then bend over like he was going to forward bend, but would hook his foot over the opposite arm and do an arm balance with his leg (that had contact with the floor) up in the air. I've seen this balance before (my teacher does it in her vinyasa flow class), but never in the middle of a pose. I know he did a few more weird things, but I can't remember them exactly. Any thoughts on what he might be doing? Oh, one more thing, when jumping to samastitihi, he would go about a foot and a half in the air and then land. I thought he was going to take flight. ) Have a wonderful day!

Always,

Lauren
