Pranayama? The whole Yoga Chikitsa series could be called a Kriya (it is meant to purify the body after all, isn't it?). For the same reason , Nadi Shodana is a Kriya to boot (it purifies the nervous system). So what exactly is a Kriya, and what is not?<br><br>I agree with you: Ashtanga Yoga is very simple and very beautiful. Let's keep it this way. I also agree that Kriyas are only of secondary importance in yoga: they may be useful in case of illness, as a therapy of last resort.
