Guest guest
Y. K? Really? What is up with this ridiculous obsession with this THING? What is your POINT? Few care about this who are concerned with practicing yoga.
FBL
Guest guest
FBL,

I just wanted to know if Ashtanga Yoga really is "the original form of Yoga" it so often claims to be: most facts say that it is not; the Yoga Korunta legend is misleading, because it let's you believe that you are doing an ancient practice which in fact is quite modern.

But you are right: in our daily practice all this is of no importance. Ashtanga Yoga clearly has its own value, regardless of whether it is invented or not. Just keep your eyes open, use your own mind, and don't believe ANYTHING they tell you. Guest guest
This Thing was claimed to be the literary source of this yoga. But was it? From all we know now, doesn't seem likely.

This leads us to make a more rational appraisal: astanga vinyasa yoga wasn't discovered in a library, or handed down to us by the Ancients. Rather, its origins appear to have much to do with the inspiration and creativity of KPJ and SK.

Guest guest
Who, exactly, makes this claim? I have never heard anyone claim this who is a qualified teacher. No one that I call a friend or teacher has ever asked me to believe in the factual validity of mythological scripture in order to be accepted as a student of Ashtanga Yoga. Anyone who does is full of shite. Why are you so suspicious?

FBL

Guest guest
I've been practicing Hatha Yoga for about ten years, and I think the enlightenment issue is a valid one. Looking at the hostility of your posts, I wonder if 99.9% practice and 0.01% theory is all that valid? Is Ashtanga Yoga really that useful, or are all practicioners as hostile as yourself???

Just a question,

Jeremiah Cornelius
