"Sant" Thakar Singh is on record for: 1)

Abusing children. He strongly encouraged all his

followers with toddlers to blindfold the children for most

of their waking hours. 2) Sexually abusing

women. Many of his female followers have come forward to

tell of Thakar requesting, and having, sex with

them. 3) Physically abusing women. Thakar has been known

to beat the hell out of some of his women devotees,

in order to "exorcise" evil spirits from their

bodies. One woman undergoing this treatment in Germany

died from the Master jumping up and down on

her. Thakar Singh is one of the worst gurus ever to hit the

spiritual marketplace.

If Thakar really does preach covering babies eyes

for the first 5 years of life, he should immediately

be put down. Anyone with even a miniscule amount of

knowledge about how the brain works knows that it is

accepted knowledge that after birth, the brain is very

plastic; that is, it is still developing and needs the

input of all the senses in order for the brain software

to develop. By that, I mean for the brain's and

nervous system's neurons and synapses to make the

connections. Covering any or all the senses during the first

years of life will make for a dull person which is not

enlightenment. Enlightened ones are very aware people, taking it

all in. Enlightenment is about being very aware on

the outside with there being no inside. Thakar's

advice is about the sickest I have ever heard.
