Guest guest
I would be humbled to be able to do yoga like david life.

Not everybody listenes to Bach, Beethoven or go to the opera. Some of you listen to....err i guess i don't know anyone contemporary...i came up with: Madonna. (Oh and I know the wallflowers but they're not half bad.)
So some have that kind of taste in yoga. Would you deprive them of it?

I am EVERY DAY grateful for the beautiful system of ashtanga yoga and that i FOUND it.( Isn't it just scary that one could still be stuck in some iyengar class not knowing that asana could be anything else? )(We could be going to class with a suitcase of props for the rest of our lives.) Having found vinyasa yoga is a miracle daily!

But those other guys......to qoute another classic:
"Let It Be".

Was the purpose of free speech really to be able to with abandon run people down, even if you have never met them or they have never hurt you?

The most valuable contribution in the last month was the one of guy donahaye talking about yoga and the value of a teacher. It made this venue worthwhile and i thank those contributions that precipitated this response no matter how annoying. It had purpose - that of us learning.

If we are really so committed to this path of ashtanga yoga let us strive to incalcate the best qualtities of our teachers...the ones we are so lucky to have. We may fail, but getting back up and striving is where our energy benefits us the most.

Sure it is okay to have our pet peeves....with the emphasis on PET.
At least David Life has studied with the yoga greats. And here comes my pet peeve: not like the sivinanda yoga asana teachers. Really.

And to those who dominate the board: a valuable question is to ask oneself - am i the one who has the most to contribute? Let that determine the frequency of posting. Guest guest
a celebration of personal taste and choice, and then an excoriation of what does not suit one's personal taste and choice? much about iyengar and sivananda styles and practices may not be of maximum benefit to me either, but i know it all fits usefully into the lives of legions of others. in the same way i am not primarily a bhakti yogi, but have worked to make peace with those following the path of devotion. a teacher can suggest a way, but finding one's individual path to Self-realization is up to each aspirant.

we are truly one Self, each of us an illusory projection of that universal reality. Guest guest
David Life Charged with Alleged Fraudulence against the Purity of Astanga Yoga: A Public Inquiery.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury,

* Does it make sense to invent a brand-new yoga style on the basis of Astanga Yoga, rather than to stick to what is handled down to us from the lineage of T.Krishnamacharya & K.Pattabhi Jois?

* Is it a good idea to mix Astanga Yoga together with different hatha-yoga styles like Sivananda and Iyengar Yoga, and boil the mixture to a yoga porridge?

* Does David Life have the experience & the competence to do his job as good as, or maybe even better than T.Krishnamacharya & K.Pattabhi Jois did theirs when they created Astanga Yoga?

* And finally, if NO is the answer to all the above questions: does it follow that David Life is a fraud?

May the jury pass its verdict.
