Guest guest
A yoga tourist can be many things- I don`t expect that the yoga tourist you name desecrates the enviroment any more or less than you do yourself. At least if they go to Mysore they may feel inspired to dedicate more of their life to yoga.
I am half punk but all yogi. I am not afraid to question something if it seems wrong but I realise that to get by in this world I have to do contribute something. This is why I clean toilets. I would rather run a big yoga centre in some capital city but to be honest I don`t have the charisma. Cleaning toilets maybe a low prestige, low paid job but when it comes down to it who does society the biggest favour the head of a multinational corporation or the toilet cleaner ? Both have the same chance to reach samadhi but maybe the toilet cleaner will reach there first because he/she has less attachment to their job.
As for cleaning toilets in India. I know that there would be plenty of work but the pay is too poor. I would have to work for 10 years just to study with guruji one month. I would rather work In Switzerland. Here the pay is better and the toilets not so dirty. You have given me an idea though, maybe I could clean the toilets at the yoga shala in Mysore in exchange for free teachings.
Please tell what lessons were learnt in the 70s- people always talk of the postive things- the change in conciousness, interest in spiritual affairs and alternative lifestyles, what is wrong with that ?
