Guest guest
Thanks to padmanow, dirk_drolli, and yasar3 for your posts!

I had known about the "don't eat for three hours before" thing, but not about how long afterwards I should go without. Often I do yoga at someone else's house, and since it takes me time to walk home and throw some lunch together, it's usually not an issue. So I didn't think about it when I got up off the mat and immediately pulled some hummus out of the fridge! You made very good points about temperature shock and refrigerated food, and I'll keep these in mind as well.

The Shoyeido tip is a good one, and come to think of it I had heard them recommended before on a veganism board (yes, I'm one of those). Right now I'm in France and I can't afford the extra shipping costs from Boulder, so I will probably wait two and a half months until I am back in North America before ordering.
I hadn't really been giving thought to burning incense _during_ my asanas, as I had the sense that that would be very hard on my lungs and throat! But I am interested to know the spiritual significance of burning incense. Is it a purification thing (primitive air freshener), a symbolism (smoke rises up with prayers), or something else I haven't imagined?

As for navasana, I guess the answer was what I figured it would be: keep practicing!

Namaste,
bodysings
